Jack Elliot

Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. In the true sense of the roving troubadour Ramblin’ Jack Elliott taught himself guitar as a teenager, hit the road, never stopping. He rejected his father’s profession as a surgeon and joined the rodeo. Johnny Cash said “Nobody I know—and I mean nobody—has covered more ground and made more friends and sung more songs than ... Ramblin' Jack Elliott”. He worked with Woody Guthrie for years. Woody once said Elliott “sounds more like me than I do”. Woody died young and his son Arlo credits Elliott with teaching him his father’s style and songs. Bob Dylan was greatly influenced by Elliott and has been referred to as his son. He's seen wearing Rockmount check with pearl diamond snaps and another time when he came to visit the Rockmount flagship store.
